Team NOEL had a farewell party for Gawon who will start new journey in NY. She will graduate soon with getting Master degree and move to new university in US for her next step. To remember her dedication and to support her future, we had a farewell party for Gawon. It was very meaningful and cheerful time. We will miss you Gawon, and will continue to root for you.

Ha Neul's devotion on his research, now presented in Nature communications with the title of "Disorder-mediated non-equilibrium photocurrent redistribution enables homeostatic synaptic conditioning in AgBiS2 heterostructure". We are very proud of his work. We give a big hand to Ha Nuel. Congratulations!

Min Jae's hard working now present in International Journal of Energy Research with title of "Low-Potential Electrooxidation of Lignin Model Compounds through Brønsted Based-Controlled Cu/TEMPO Meditationnow". We give a big hand for him, and expect his next steps :) Congratulations, Min Jae!

There are 4th ReNewPV + 16th European Kesterite Conference held in Tallinn, Estonia, 17th of June. Professor Yang was invited to give a speech about his recent research field, molecular ink engineering, at the conference. Many people attended to learn about progress in molecular ink engineering. As well as, Ha Neul presented disorder engineering research at the conference.

Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU) posted the impact of the research about utilizing disorder engineering in low-powered AI chip, which team NOEL coworked with Professor Saebyuk Jo's lab. Youngen got a scholarship from Kimsunmun scholarship. She has been awarded a scholarship in recognition of her outstanding research and academic performance. We sincerely give congratulations on her achievement !

Dr. Park who joined NOEL since 2023 gave a talk about his last presentation during Journal club on 29th of May. He summerized his research agenda and shared what he earned by joining team NOEL. It was very special moment because he is finalizing life in SKKU and will start new journey in MIT, Boston. Thank you for your serving and work in NOEL, and we are looking forward to meeting you again with good news :)

Seonggeun did successfully his master's defence. Now, he is ready to be graduated from the school ! We give a big hand for he to delegently work during master courses, and finish up well.

Gawon successfully defenced her master's thesis. She had a good presentation on her research work during master course. We sincerely congrat that she is finalizing her master course and support new journey in U.S.

Another research paper will be published soon :) Gawon's research work has accepted to publish in Nano-Energy with a title " Atomic Scale Distortion Enables Optimal Cu-Co Coupling for Selective Electrochemical Nitrate to Ammonia Conversion in Neutral Electrolytes" We give you a big hand ! This friday was a special day, which is teacher's day :) Students prepared a surprise party for professor Yang to give a thanks for his detailed supervising to everyone. Thank you very much, Professor, for your efforts to guide us.

Minjae and Minju attended 2026 TeX-Corps from 15th - 17th, May. TeX-Corps is a programme where teaches know-how to build a start-up team within lab system of University. Various field experts joined this programme for mentoring of each team. It was a nice opportunity to learn how to connect technology in the lab to the market.

NOEL's key members (Jaemin, Jisu, Minjae, Youngeun) had attended 2026 MRS Spring meeting which held April 26–May 1 in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. MRS meeting and exhibition is one of the biggest conference about materials science and engineering. They presented their research works through poster presentation sessions, and also joining interesting sessions. With a title of "H1N1 Viral RNA Detection via FEN1-assisted Isothermal Amplification based on a Three-Way Junction", a new article which professor Yang worked together has been published.

There was 2026 SIEST international forum held during April 20-21, 2026. Professor Yang invited as a speaker to talk about his recent research of carbon capturing. He presented about electro-chemically capturing of carbon, which is currently our team focused on! It was great time to share our works to scholars and students.

Newly Seonggeun's work has published on Energy Storage Materials , which titled " Microneedle-assisted non-destructive and scalable structural engineering for high-performance dry-processed thick electrodes". We acknowledge Soengguen's hard working for this performance. Congrats, Soengguen !!

All the members of NOEL had attended conference of Korea Energy Society (Apr. 15-17). Dr. Park, Minjae, Jisu, Yeongeun, Gawon, Minju presented their research in Poster sessions. And our leader, Professor Yang spoke about carbon capturing research in our Lab. It was very interesting to see other research topics in terms of Energy.

Our team celebrated birthday of Jisu and Yumin. Small cakes but big hearts. We are all happy to have these two members. Happy birthday and have a good day :)

Congratulations to Dr. Park for his work now available on SusMat. His conducted a research about " All-Inorganic Perovskite@SiO 2 Quantum Dots for Amplifying the Interfacial Electric Field on WO 3 Toward Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting". Dayeon's hard working is accepted to be published in Journal of Materials Chemistry A. She studied about " Precursor Chemistry Governing Morphology and Cation Disorder in AgBiS2 Solar Absorber for Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting". We give a big hand to her efforts and result coming out. Team NOEL's progress will keep going :)
